Yeah, I just made a nand dump and attempted to restore got this error about the dump being from a different Wii. I think I'm going back to Bootmii beta 2. Only time I noticed the bug where NAND backups were left as 0 byte files was when the verifying back up was attempted to be skipped.by LeftToSigh - BootMii Beta
Yep, they work. I'm happy with 4.1 it doesn't have the menu bugs that flawed 4.0U like the infrequent screen lags/black loading delayed screens while WC24 was turned on. It seemed that the preloader was complimenting and conflicting with that specific 4.0U bug as well resulting in the disc endlessly spinning when exiting back to Wii menu then eventually when entering one of channels orby LeftToSigh - Homebrew General
I have 2 different nand backups. The fresh one with the official 4.0 update that came with my replacement Wii after freshly installing HBC & then theres the one after I installed the cios' and pre-loader. Thats the one I'm using that one right now cause it works with 4.0. Just kinda wish the pre-loader hacks worked on 4.1 & that bug that makes the disk continue to spin was completely irby LeftToSigh - Homebrew General
I had 4.1 but then used the bootmii/boot2 timewarp painlessly go back to 4.0. Ready to go back to 4.1 anytime just need a compatible pre-loader to execute system menu hack settings.by LeftToSigh - Homebrew General
I'm uninstalling the preloader, cause its useless with v4.1U. I can't use the hacks to turn off the skip disc update check or region free options. Now some games want to update and they aren't of this region. I want to uninstall it. I'm using Channel File Manager. Where is the preloader located on my nand? Also are there any alternatives to the preloader with hacks compatibleby LeftToSigh - Homebrew General
No mention of bootmii or a pre-loader. If enough bricked Wii' keep flooding into NOA with some signs of previous hacking they might start charging crazy fines. Anyway in this case your systems warranty had expired anyway. Advice: Don't play mad scientist without first having brick protection especially when it comes to dwelving deeper & getting into those random custom channels/sby LeftToSigh - FixMii
Hmm. I've used that sameguide before on my original Wii with no problems. Something obviously went wrong somewhere in the process. Did you follow the instruction thoroughly? The official 4.0U update through Nintendo can be decently hacked as well to allow certain functionalities. I would know. I used a completely different procedure this time around cause this new Wii wouldn't allow meby LeftToSigh - FixMii
My first Wii had 1. The recent replacement Wii I received has 7. The first bad block on it started at 666. Ha. I've always wondered if these bad blocks make much of a difference?by LeftToSigh - BootMii Beta
I have Bootmii/boot2, preloader and use the bootmii config. I have it all nicely set up too. I have both loaders set up where when my system is powered up everything autoboots normally to the untrained eye as if they don't exist all, but if I need to get to either one their both easily within grasp.by LeftToSigh - BootMii Beta
My original Wii LU52 had 1. My recent replacement LU51 has 6?? I've always wondered if these bad blocks make any real difference at all.by LeftToSigh - BootMii Beta
I was just speaking in general with the excitement of getting my replacement system. For most of the normal Brew applications like the menuloader etc. that worked before with ease wouldn't work this time around which was odd until I figured out what was going on.by LeftToSigh - Offtopic
I got my replacement system back yesterday and it came updated to 4.0U. I installed bootmii as boot 2. All my game data and playstats were transferred. Right now I can't play my imports, backups, can't seem to downgrade my IOS's etc. or install wads to allow the play of these disc. Certain applications just reboot the system when I launch them. I also noticed that this Wii had 6 bby LeftToSigh - Offtopic
That's bullsh**t point blank. I don't use cheats at all, but I do go online with Homebrew installed and I browse the Shop channel, Nintendo Channel etc. and I have played games using Nintendo Wi-fi. Anyway it's only so much Nintendo can do, cause they are "Not" the Internet Service Provider. Nintendo Wi-Fi taps into the existing connection. Only thing that can detect sofmods and moby LeftToSigh - Offtopic
Oh yeah, I failed to mention I left Bootmii as boot 2 on my previous console when I sent it in. Anyway...Yes! The Wii I'm getting back is a serial # LU51, it has a fresh warranty and was shipped out today. The one sent in for repairs serial began with LU52 , would've been 2 years old this month and it will be missed. Hope my playstats etc. were transferred over though not much of a bigby LeftToSigh - Offtopic
As I mentioned recently in a post under the Fixmii forum I had concerns about NOA's possible policies about softmods. Today I had my curiousities confirmed. At last minute before sending my system in for repair I chose to just remove the visible signs instead of the internal signs for my own test. So I got a call today about my repair. I was anxious to see what they would say. My original syby LeftToSigh - Offtopic
QuoteHazed81Looking for some help here... I soft modded my Wii with 4.0 firmware. I installed Preloader and the Homebrew Channel and was up and running for a while. I tried to downgrade back to 3.3 firmware and the system froze. I turned off the power and turned it back on. But now I just have the green LED and nothing comes up on the TV. I have tried holding the reset button while hittinby LeftToSigh - FixMii
Hmm. Wow sound like it should work with no problem at all then...by LeftToSigh - Getting Started
Sweet. Bootmii is too badass. I semi tested is out this morning from a previous back up. It restored everything up to from when I made the most recent backup and it didn't even show the most recent playstats that I had made after that I did after that particular back up save. Now that's brick protection and protection in general. Should I even uninstall it? I'm now comparing the boby LeftToSigh - BootMii Beta
My nand has already been backed up. I'm now backing up all my channels and game saves, then possibly going to format my system memory to erase the playstats before sending it in to Nintendo for them to replace my system GPU thats showing light heat damage while its still under a new warranty and before the problem progresses. I'm going to uninstall bootmii and reinstall when I get my syby LeftToSigh - BootMii Beta
Hmmm. I thought I could delete my message board gameplay stats at one time?? My Wii isn't experiencing any problems from Homebrewing, but I was feeling paranoid that Nintendo would refuse to repair my Wii for showing previous signs of Brew from looking my play stats. At one time those play stats for Homebrew Channel etc. wouldn't even even show up. Now they do...Hmm. The ones that did sby LeftToSigh - FixMii
I presently just keep Wiiconnect24 off completely until I want to connect to the Votes, Shop, Weather, News or Nintendo channels. After I use them I turn it back off. Yeah, I was noticing that heat several months ago and started leaving it off. Also leaving off WC24 gets rid of any weird delays in between screen menu. I was thinking of calling Nintendo to see what options I have. I want to keep mby LeftToSigh - FixMii
Yeah it's like what's illustrated in the link you posted. It's not too noticeable in games. Depending on if I go into a dark areas of the game etc. Is this reversable? More cool air? I use to leave my Wiiconnect24 on at one time a few months ago until I noticed that the system would still be warm while off as if it were still powered up.by LeftToSigh - FixMii
QuotePhoenixTankSounds like GPU artifacting. Could you elaborate on this. Thanks in advance. I'm searching around for more info on the topic.by LeftToSigh - FixMii
It's been like that for a while, but as long as it didn't really progress and get worse. I try not leave it on for too long of extended periods when not in use. Unless I'm actively in some form or fashion doing something pertaining to it and playing it. I would like to get rid of those dots .by LeftToSigh - FixMii
What would be the cause of this? It doesn't affect the game play none at all. Just the video is slightly blimished a little, but it's not too noticeable. Could the disk drive have been strained a little from watching DVDs'? Reminds me of some of the lag that comes from playing online and there's little spots, light shimmering little lines in certain areas of the screen backgroby LeftToSigh - FixMii
Hmmm. This is too odd. Have you tried deleting the save first that's stored on the Wii system memory in save data, then attempt to delete the channel?by LeftToSigh - FixMii
Hmm... Since you have 4.0 now have you tried moving it to SD? If you can possibly move it, at least then you could take the SD card out then to your PC go in the folder and manually delete it. If it does by chance move I wouldn't even open the SD channels and just go for the straight delete from the PCby LeftToSigh - FixMii
Boot 2. One can't save their Wii if they can't get to the system menu to launch the HBC again to undo whatever mad science experiment that went wrong. I foresaw that right away as being the best choice that's why I went for Boot2.by LeftToSigh - BootMii Beta
When the window pops up for the HBC update do any of you get a download error after clicking "yes"? I make sure that I have a connection. Is the 4.0U somehow interfering possibly? Discuss.by LeftToSigh - Homebrew General
