QuoteLordAshesDo you mean when you try to launch the Homebrew Channel from BootMii? I'm sure he actually means what he wrote; launch Bootmii from the HBC. Notice how he has Bootmii installed as IOS, launching HBC through Bootmii wouldn't make much sense there now, would it? :) As for the problem at hand, I'm going with SifJars idea. As he wrote, make sure you have the required Bby jwalk - BootMii Beta
It could be a problem with your SD-card, some SD-cards just cannot be used for Bootmii. I helped a friend of mine install Bootmii on her Wii, she had a Transcend SD-card, 2GB. After installation had been successful we restarted her Wii, but all that happened was that the Wii DVD slot just lit up twice — which is a sign that Bootmii on the Wii cannot find the required Bootmii files on the SD-caby jwalk - BootMii Beta
(I would like to start off by saying I wasn't certain of where this topic should go.) I'm not really sure what the Hackmii team do about scams; companies who sell their free software, either alone or as part of a bundle. I do know there is a homepage dedicated to fighting scams, however, I think there should be a more efficient way for the homebrew community to fight it. I just stby jwalk - Getting Started
They say that AnyRegionChanger could be used to solve certain kind of bricks. However, a NAND-backup would provide theoretically 100% brick protection for your Wii. Basically, I wouldn't count on AnyRegionChanger.by jwalk - BootMii Beta
@zalbor: Welcome to the forums! As for suggestion 1, I don't have much to say. However, your suggestion 2 is already implemented.by jwalk - BootMii Beta
@metroid_maniac: Well, I have to disagree. Preloader seems a lot more complex than what it would be to just add this simple feature in bootmii, also I don't want to place yet another application "before the system menu", and we shouldn't even talk about how to uninstall preloader. See, the reason for which I suggested this feature was simply because of this; there should be noby jwalk - BootMii Beta
I just came up with an idea for a new config option for bootmii in the bootmii.ini file. Alongside the VIDEO, AUTOBOOT and BOOTDELAY options there could be something like a HEALTHANDSAFETY option which would make it possible to (easily and safely) remove the "Health and Safety warning screen" — booting the Wii directly to the system menu with the channels. Say you could configure it somethingby jwalk - BootMii Beta
What is the problem here? What do you mean by "old HBC"? From what I understand you just don't like the way bootmii boots before the system menu, hence you have the idea of renaming the bootmii folder? Of course this works, if you rename the bootmii folder on your SD card, bootmii won't be able to find the necessary files to run and will start to Wii system menu instead (after flashiby jwalk - BootMii Beta
Now hold on, this has nothing to do with re-installing bootmii! I assume you have an SD-card, which means all you really should have to do is the following: Run the HackMii Installer v0.2 (using whatever method you prefer to run homebrew) Go into the BootMii... option Select the Prepare a SD card option Now, the HackMii installer will tell you that; "Runtime files will be written, theseby jwalk - BootMii Beta
It's pretty simple if you have bootmii as boo2. Then, all you have to do is edit the bootmii.ini file on your SD-card (should be located here; ./bootmii/bootmii.ini). I have copied the original file, and then just added two lines at the bottom of it (rather than "un-commenting"). # BootMii config file # Video mode, possible settings: # NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE VIDEO=PAL5by jwalk - BootMii Beta
I just read that it would be possible, though quite complicated, to restore a Wii NAND backup from to . Now, I have a question about this. If this is possible, does that mean - theoretically - that you could make a NAND backup from a Wii which is fresh out of the shipping-box (except you've installed Bootmii and only Bootmii on it), and then modify this NAND backup for any Wii of your cby jwalk - BootMii Beta
