In hind sight, would it not make more sense to just make the 3 files available to copy into the directory directly? bootmii armboot.bin ppcboot.elf Essentially all I did was replace those three files with newer versions by running "prepare SD card" thru the hackmii installer.by draexo - BootMii Beta
I am sorry, I did not realize that it was a moderated forum! I had something spelled wrong in the directory. Now it comes up when I go into System Menu and load HBC. I did the "Prepare SD Card" from inside the hackmii installer and it does not appear to have updated anything... just put files on SD card. I guess I can simply install it again. When I turn on the Wii, it goes to the bootmiiby draexo - BootMii Beta
QuoteSifJarJust run the HackMii Installer. Its really not very hard. EDIT: FYI, you can run it from HBC, you don't need to use an exploit again. Just put the boot.elf in a folder on your SD card called "hackmii_installer", which you should make inside your "apps" folder (i.e. the path to boot.elf should be sd:\apps\hackmii_installer\boot.elf) How do I run it from HBC? I have the boot.eby draexo - BootMii Beta
I have bootmii .5 beta installed. I would like to upgrade to .8 beta. Is there a simple way to do this or must I use the hackmii installer again?by draexo - BootMii Beta
Sounds like a lot of work!. I will try the extractor and installer.... do they work under 4.2? Guess I will find outby draexo - Getting Started
We run 4.2 system menu. Patchmii did not say anything about being limited to certain system menu versions. Something else to check out I guess! Sounds like extractor and installer might be easier after all!by draexo - Getting Started
As I read more, it appears I have to run patchmii to get cIOS 249 in order to use Savegame Manager - that is what the Wiki says, but when downloading the file from Homebrew there is nothing in the description about that. I found patchmii installer, I just need to figure out what to do with it!by draexo - Getting Started
I saw Extractor and Installer, but I wanted to copy everything over and it seems to me I would have to actually put the disc in for each game to use Extractor and Installer, but not so with Savegame Manager.by draexo - Getting Started
Ok, My son has been playing with Homebrew and using various cheat codes. One code messed up his saved game file for Animal Crossing and he will have to start the game over. We tried to copy his other saved game files over to the SD card without much luck. Most of them will not copy. The copy (move) option is grayed out. I found an app on the homebrew channel called "Savegame Manager". Whenby draexo - Getting Started
Hey, it worked great. Bootmii seems to have disappeared, but homebrew channel and browser work. Now I have to find the game cheats my son was looking for. Thanks so much.by draexo - Getting Started
OK. Here is the situation. My son has a Wii. He wants Homebrew. That means daddy (me) has to figure it out. I read the FAQ, download the programs, and get an idea, or so I think. I have downloaded HackMii installerv0.6 and also Banner Bomb v2, as our Wii is updated to the 4.2u version. I have the SD card all set... BUT HackMii comes with BOOT.ELF, which the HackMii readme says not to use,by draexo - Getting Started
