Check with another SD-card. Some cards---my noname SDHC included---don't work with BootMii despite working in the installer.by magu - BootMii Beta
Well, AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU with BOOTDELAY=0 is a good start. Read the README ... QuoteII. Configuration file BootMii will look for a configuration file at /bootmii/bootmii.ini. QuoteSifJar1) Custom channels are ILLEGAL 2) To install preloader you need trucha in IOS 36, and the only way to get that on 4.0 is to use methods not supported here. Well, distribution of custom channels is illegal if they contain copyrighted code and get distributed within a legislation which prohibits it. However, making custom channels for one's own use is not illegal in any sane legislby magu - BootMii Beta
QuoteSifJarYou cant install as boot2. So your logic is flawed. I believe you mean install as IOS and use .dol file to load IOS BootMii. But IOS BootMii can't restore NAND dumps yet due to a bug or something. But when it can, this will indeed be a solution to the problem. Right now, it's kinda pointless I'm afraid. I would say lack of RestoreMii when running as IOS being a safety feby magu - BootMii Beta

Quotemetroid_maniacSo long as you get a Dol/Elf of the HBC you can put it on your SD and load it from the SD icon in bootmii Almost right, but not entirely. This since HBC runs under IOS, whereas all stuff run from the SD icon in BootMii run under MINI. You would have to make a launcher that runs under MINI, that in turn launches HBC under IOS.by magu - BootMii Beta
QuoteCappoWhen Bootmii does a nand dump, does it skip dumping boot2 as part of the "save time" process? What I'm getting to here is can I take the first 8 blocks from a nand dump made with Bootmii and flash it using a nand programmer? It backups everything, so taking the first 8 blocks from a dump should work ok. BootMii only skips part of NAND while restoring; and that's because itby magu - BootMii Beta
Just do a connection test from the settings menu, and answer yes when it asks you to update.by magu - BootMii Beta
This customizes the delay for the AUTOBOOT option. Defaults to 5 sec. It's in the README.by magu - BootMii Beta
Aint the hash of boot1 stored in ROM separate of the NAND chip? Thus you would have to reflash the new NAND with a non bugged boot1 or it won't boot.by magu - BootMii Beta
In bootmii.ini you have the entry: QuoteVIDEO=NTSC (or PAL50/PAL60/PROGRESSIVE) Make sure it's set to the correct video mode. Most probably yours is set to PROGRESSIVE.by magu - BootMii Beta
Even if you could, why would you? Selling a Wii with BootMii installed is a feature. Also, if you sell to someone not knowing, they won't even notice unless they insert a properly formatted SD card when booting up. The risk of that is less then zero unless the person is into Wii hacking; which would make it cease to be a problem anyway ...by magu - BootMii Beta
I've tried RestoreMii. It works like a charm! It seems as if it first makes a diff between your backup and what's on NAND. Then it asks for your permission before actually starting the write. Then when commiting the write, it only writes to those blocks that actually diff, minimizing wear of the NAND, and maximizing speed.by magu - BootMii Beta
Quoteniko86Quotemagu What we would need here, methinks, is just backup of the keys. Then use some MINI-using Any Region Changer-clone that: (1) Wipes the Wii, (2) Injects the new key info into the right places, (3) Reinstalls System Menu and all IOS:es from Nintendos servers. If this would work it would save the inevitable cries of people who lose nand backups etc and no way to recover. Iby magu - BootMii Beta

Is this anything you have any plans on looking into, considering all the work that probably will be needed fixing this, for the moment only hypothetical, problem, or will the old policy remain? QuoteWiiBrew strongly recommends that you do not update your Wii through Nintendo.by magu - BootMii Beta
Excellent work guys --- does exactly what it should, in a superlative fashion! You probably just made the EBAY-value of old Wii:s with vulnerable boot1 skyrocket ... =)by magu - BootMii Beta
Quoteniko86Generation of a new nand file structure within the wii something thats ever been looked into? QuotediffikoltAs far as boot1, no, it will never be possible to work around. As quoted, "boot1, although stored on the NAND, is signed by a value in write-once memory and therefore cannot be changed." It would be work around-able, only if the SHA1-algoritm used for signing were to be proven weak, so that we could create a fake boot2 with the exact same signature as the original boot2 (and now I dby magu - BootMii Beta
