Quoteshadelessi, too have a question. since it is about backup/restoring the nand, i'll post it in this thread. i hope thats not a problem. i installed bootmii into boot2 and tried the backup feature, it told me to insert a sd card which will be formatted. i did that and bootmii said something like "nand.bin will be overwritten - press reset". i then pressed the reset button and it went rby diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Quotejabce85Quoteniko86Quotejabce85boot2, want me to give the other way a try? No just thought that you may have installed it as an IOS and afaik it doesnt load bootmii at startup. It installed first time to boot2 for me, send the log if one was made to hackmii as the readme says, then i guess just try again. yeap, shot them an email w/ the log file and also tried the install again... same tby diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Quotehangway2hi there I'm using a US Wii, LU-64 S/N, System Menu 4.0U (wrong update made by my wife) and it's virgin (no modchip or HBC). I tried to install BootMii, but my wii just reboot. I guess my wii is one of the newer, so, i can't install BootMii in boot2 (need to install as IOS). "* BootMii/IOS: This mode will install BootMii into your NAND filesystem as an IOS (IOSby diffikolt - BootMii Beta
I too would like to throw out a huge thanks to Team Twiizers. By far, you guys have done the most work for homebrew on the Wii. Bootmii is an incredibly useful tool, and the wait was well worth it. If you need any future private beta testers, I throw my hat in...I have a pretty good understanding of everything that is going on. :)by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
The short answer is yes, but it's probably a long way off...by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Impossible to both. Your boot1 is invulnerable to Bootmii...it can only be installed as an IOS for your Wiis.by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Great question. I'm assuming the chances of the bad blocks being the location of what is causing the brick will be slim to none, so even if it can't write to that area, it should still recover the Wii. Also assuming NAND degradation is the same with any product...different with each and every NAND.by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
QuoteTnadeN+1 I have the exact same problem but on a 3.2E Wii. Haven't tried the preloader but my wii produces the same screen as magic12 got. (HBC 1.0.1) Have you tested HBC 1.0.2 to see if the result is the same? Details such as these help quite a bit with developers.by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Pushing power and reset don't navigate the menu?by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Your best bet for now is just to "hide" the Bootmii files on the SD card unless you want it to load. (Rename the bootmii folder on your SD card to bootmii1, or whatever.) It might not be possible, since Bootmii loads so early during the booting process, to allow reset to change the loading.by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Wavebird seems to not be implemented yet. You can't navigate the menu via the Wii buttons? (Power, reset?)by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Quotetali3sinMy question is about this line: QuoteBootMii provides you with a "safety net" -- you can back up your entire Wii to SD in under three minutes! If you were to brick your Wii, BootMii would still run and let you restore your backup from SD Is the above quoted feature working in the beta? I'm assuming it's not the same as the IOS NAND feature, because... boot protection isby diffikolt - BootMii Beta
My SDHC card works just fine for Bootmii. As far as speed issue, eco, I doubt that is something they can really fix. Older cards just have slower data access, simple as that. If you are a homebrewer anyways, you should consider an SD update...everything will work faster.by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Tried to recreate the issue, but replacing the sd card caused it to unfreeze.by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Do you have a regular SD card? The issue is definitely in SDHC, which I assumed to be the case...I tested and confirmed immediately after the original post. If you have a regular SD card, you can use the 1.0.1 HBC dol to reinstall it. That is what I have done until the SDHC issue is resolved. :) Also, I only realized I posted this in the Bootmii Beta forum just now. Sorry, it was late laby diffikolt - BootMii Beta
Installed DVDx, Bootmii as Boot2, and the new version of HBC. However, apps are no longer being displayed on HBC. Checked SD card, everything is still located where it should be... Power cycled Wii, etc, still no go.by diffikolt - BootMii Beta
