QuoteArikadoQuotecoontangalright, how do i update it without system menu? :s Sephiroth was being sarcastic (I dont know why). Use Waninkos app. actually it wasn't meant to be sarcastic...I really thought you knew a way to update normally without the sysmenu :D so at least it turns out that I made the right suggestion after all ^^by Sephiroth - FixMii
as far as i know you can get the keys with a nand backup (using bootmii of course)... I just don't know how exactly to get the keys from the nand.bin file...but as long as you have this nand backup, you also should have the possibility to figure out the keys in case you really needed them.by Sephiroth - Homebrew General
@ Arikado: wow you support MY opinion xD btw. I only mentioned waninkokos firmware updater because as far as I know it's the only way to run an update on cootangs wii? I would also recommend the normal nintendo update, since waninkokos apps are really questionable, but how the hell is it possible?? @ cootang: wait till arikado explains how to update the system with a broken sysmenuby Sephiroth - FixMii
@WaxyPumpkin72: i really don't get it...somebody obviously bricked his wii and ONLY because he mentioned it happened because he wanted to get a backuploader to work he won't be helped unbricking his wii??? he didn't ask for any help regarding the backuploader he just wanted his wii unbricked...why is it such a problem to post a fine answer to a question as soon as the word "bby Sephiroth - FixMii
turn on the wii and look at it right before booting into the normal sysmenu: if you notice a short flash of the blue led at the wii, then it means that bootmii/boot2 is installed but your sd card is not compatible...if you don't see the short blue flash, then bootmii/boot2 simply is NOT installed...try reinstalling!by Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
QuoteUjnHunterMight be a silly question, but can I install BootMii as both boot2 & IOS on the same system? Or will this cause problems? Also, I'm assuming that once I install BootMii, if I run the installer again it would give the option to uninstall if need be? Thanks! yes the boot2 + IOS installation can be installed on the same system...no problems will occur. and yes again, the neby Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
open homebrewchannel, load anyregionchanger, change game region back to the original...wow you didn't figure that out by yourself? ^^by Sephiroth - FixMii
updating to 4.0 isn't recommended at the moment because some homebrew apps won't work after the update...you could use Edited Out, which cuts out the homebrew limitations in 4.0, but this isn't save either. what you could do is make a nand backup with bootmii and then update to 4.0.bootmii is compatible with any system menu, thats why you could "downgrade" any time using restoby Sephiroth - Getting Started
if you have the twilight hack save game + 3.2U than you might be lucky...try pressing all D-pad buttons of your gc controller at the same time while powering on the wii (just like in this youtube video: ). it should go into the rescue menu where you only see a blackscreen + your firmware at the lower right corner of your tv. EDIT: the gc controller HAS to be plugged into the FOURTH controllerby Sephiroth - FixMii
the wii will boot into the normal system menu if you sd card is incompatible...only thing that might suck is a short boot delay, but shouldn't be a problem, since you can uninstall it and reinstall when you have a new sd card ^^by Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
@ WaxyPumpkin72: 1. I know his name, i just didn't want to write it down completely, because he isn't the only one behind piracy...i guess saying "the coders XXX" would be more appropriate :P 2. I already mentioned in my post above that there are enough legal ways of bricking a wii! @ Arikado: I really didn't want to accuse team twiizers of being responsible for piracyby Sephiroth - Offtopic
@ Someone: if you like to have a clean wii why not use any title deleter? this program lets you remove nearly anything (+tickets). that means you can make a nand backup when you purchase a title (which means having the ticket on the nand) but also being able to remove and add the ticket whenever you want...as long as you have a nand backup with ALL tickets, you can modify the nand to remoby Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
if the sd card worked with beta1,then it's a problem with the ability of beta2 to not format the sd card before doing the NAND backup.a solution for this would be to just manually format the sd card (on your PC) after being inside the bootmii menu...bootmii SHOULD do the backup after formating the sd card. hope this bug will be fixed with beta 3 ^^ if the sd card won't even work wby Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
wow I can't believe how mahern4 is being treated just for bringing up this topic...it would be even more ridiculous to stop this topic and ban him...some of what he is saying is simply true: most people who use homebrew, also use it for pirating wii games.and even if team twiizers doesn't support piracy directly; the pirates are surely glad for apps like bootmii: one of the greaby Sephiroth - Offtopic
mine is from february 07...so just like nikola's it's pretty old. it isn't a big deal anyway, but some sd cards seem to have to be formated anyway...would be nice to see this fixed in beta 3 :)by Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
@ TiMeBoMb : it's true that nintendo does have a way of knowing which console downloaded which content, but that doesn't mean that you're save with this! as daniel stated above, the only way for the shop channel of knowing that you already purchased a title is if you have the ticket for the title ON your NAND!! this means that if you made a NAND backup some time ago and purchby Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
hi I'm having troubles creating a backup of my NAND with the new beta2 version of bootmii. I always get these three errors: f_lseek failed: 2 f_lseek(0) failed: 2 Backup failed: -1 and the screen freezes so i have to reset my wii. I now tried it with a different sd card and it seems to work with it...but I used the not-working sd card for a backup in beta1 and it worked...Iby Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
@ danmed : but don't think you can mess up your wii after having the nand backup and preloader installed. the problem with the IOS version of bootmii is that it requires a sane IOS to run! that means, if you fullbrick your wii and your IOS' are corrupted even preloader won't start the hbc any longer, because (as i said) a sane IOS is absolutely neccessary!by Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
yes of course... i saw a youtube video where somebody erased EVERYTHING besides the sysmenu and just few other things and he could still boot normally.anytitledeleter won't let you delete anything important for the booting process, so as i said above, why not erase everything erasable with anytitledeleter, then update -> alle corrupted IOS' should now be available again and of couby Sephiroth - Homebrew General
as far as I know erasing ALL (erasable) IOS' using anytitledeleter will work without full bricking the wii...but I can't remember if the hbc will still launch apps. but still NO full brick means that you can at least update your wii normally, which will guarantee having uncorrupted IOS and you do have bootmii installed as boot2, so why not try this out?by Sephiroth - Homebrew General
you can delete IOS254, because you already installed bootmii as boot2, so no need for 2 copies of bootmii i guess :)by Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
bootmii did not freeze! i have 2 wiis here; 1 where bootmii is installed as boot2 and a second one with the IOS installation...the boot2 bootmii wii will regognize both, gc controller and the power/reset buttons but the IOS version only regognizes the gc controller. so i guess i have the same issue as you have...the IOS installed version simply won't let you use the power/reset buttoby Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
@niko86: well...thx, I really didn't notice that I have to install a new hbc to use bootmii, anyway, it seems like bootmii runs fine now as IOS :)by Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
@Hackrob: 1. how am i supposed to figure that out? i can'r remember bushing saying this somewhere, neither does the readme file. 2. still no success...my hbc just looks and works the same way as it did before, no "load bootmii" button.by Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
hi there, i have a wii here, which has the newer boot1, which of course means i have to install bootmii as IOS, but how do i start it?? i just don't get...the installer writes some files on the sd card and i assume bootmii as IOS works the same way as the boot2 installation, but instead of loading from boot2 it loads from a sane IOS...but my wii never boots bootmii, when i turn on my wii.by Sephiroth - BootMii Beta
