You could execute scripts, or just manipulate your Wii, from your PC.by spacepimp - Ideas, requests
Quotecactusjack901Quotespacepimppretty much all of those will have some kind of pc There's my main problem with this. There's no real use for the program, because, as you stated, almost, if not, all, of those people, have a PC, which they can just as easily use for a Wii torrent client. I just can't see a real reason to use the Wii for my torrenting. I just can't see it.by spacepimp - Ideas, requests
Hello all. Don't want to proke further heat to the debate, I just want to say that I'd quite like a .torrent client, I started the other thread mentioned at the top of the page: Apparently QuotetueidjThe wii's networking stack kinda sucks. Chuffed with the response so far, many thanks! Marcan: Ta for the suggestion - I did try linux for this purpose, got as far as logging on to a working partition but couldn't get ubuntu live cd (downloaded using torrent) to recognise the partition and gave up. I am noob hear me roar. Bootmii and mini? I should revist the available info. Although booting up linux every time is a bit long-windby spacepimp - Ideas, requests
The Wii uses a lot less power (30W+?) than a PC. My pc is often left on overnight just to run utorrent (TV stuff mostly). I know nothing about programming, but I know utorrent is very very light, and I'm assuming that implies that it's relatively simple? Very simply, the homebrew could check for .torrents from a folder on a samba share or a usbHD, and save data to another folderby spacepimp - Ideas, requests
