Really nice project, gave92! ;) By the way, you should also follow this topic about Wii Browser on the GBATemp forum! :P You will see that there are more people interested in your project, and even some suggestions for you! ;)by XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
I don't know if you're aware, but Gregory Montoir (cyx), from the ScummVM team, was working on a rewrite of the game engine of Eric Chahi's great game, Heart of Darkness, called HODe. :P The official page for this port is down, but I was able to find a copy of the source code here! ;) It would be really awesome if someone could port this so we could play this great game again oby XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
Nice project! :D Could you please post some screenshots? ;)by XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
There were at least 3 homebrew web browsers being developed for the Wii: WiiBrowse WiiXplore WorldWiideWeb Unfortunately they are all unfinished and none of them plays Flash movies that require Flash 9 or above... :( Too bad no one created Chrome or Firefox ports for the Wii! :Pby XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
If someone wants to pick up the development, tueidj has already a working port of EDuke32 running on the Wii! :D You can watch it in action here and check the details here: ;)by XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
Hey otto! :) That's a pretty good idea! :D Here's some info that might help! ;) According to the description of the Internet Channel, the Wii is running Opera v9.30, so any vulnerabilities found for that version and above should probably work! ;) Also, it supports Flash too! So, another source of exploits to try! ;) At the official Opera website, they maintain an updated list oby XICO2KX - Software
I've always been curious on how all these exploits are found... (^_^) Does the Wii provide its own savegame save/load functions that can be used by game programmers or does each game have to implement their own functions to do that? (Ó.ò) I mean... If we have the PPC disassembly of the game code, how do we find were the savegame processing code is? :Pby XICO2KX - Homebrew General
Interesting discussion! :P Here's the official page of the DOL Loader Plugin v0.1 for IDA v5.2! ;) And for anyone that is interested, there is also this alternative updated version: PPCAltivec Plugin v1.8 for IDA v6.0 P.S.: Just wondering... Has anyone ever tried disassembling the IOS used by the Photo Channel to check if any loading functions of the supported file formats is exploitabby XICO2KX - Software
QuoteSifJarAlso, I believe in v1.1, they removed the music playing, so no MP3, AAC or M4ABtw, Photo Channel v1.1 still supports AAC/M4A files, like mentioned here! ;)by XICO2KX - Software
QuoteSifJar(...) I thought AAC and M4A were the same anyway? Maybe I got confused... (...)You're right! They're just different file extensions for the same file format! :P Anyway, I wonder if the Bannerbomb exploit was based on a Heap Overflow similar to this one! ;)by XICO2KX - Software
Hello! :) I was reading something about the Photo Channel on Wikipedia, and it says that it can read the following formats: JPEG, JPG, MOV, AVI, MP3, AAC, M4A And it also mentions that the current version v1.1 was last updated on December 10, 2007... So, in theory, all the vulnerabilities discovered for those file formats since then should still be unfixed! :O Here's just a few exampleby XICO2KX - Software
Both Rancidmeat's Duke3d_w32 and icculus.org's Duke3D are pure SDL ports for this game... And there is SDL Wii... So... What's missing? ;)by XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
QuoteeMalcHi, When I try to load up Wii64 via the HBC, it loads fine. However when I try to choose a game to load on it, it complains that there was an error when trying to load "/wii64/roms". I've checked and double checked, and this directory is there in the right place afaik. Does anyone have ideas as to what could be going wrong? For reference, I'm trying to load roms via USBby XICO2KX - Homebrew Applications
QuoteArikadoNo OpenGL for Wii homebrew. Sorry. Don't know if it is any good or not, but the people on the GL2GX project seems to have already begin to develop an OpenGL wrapper for GX! ;)by XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
If someone is interested in starting from scratch, the official source code of the game is available at the 3D Realms website! ;) The original game engine is called Build engine! ;) There's even a NintendoDS port of the game! lol :Pby XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
The original version was a DOS-only version. The recent ports work on Windows and introduce better graphics and new features! ;)by XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
Oh, I didn't know that... :( But I think the Linux version runs only over SDL! :P Check here: ;) Isn't there a SDL port for the Wii somewhere? ;)by XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
Hello! :) I've seen ports of various old school first person shooters like Doom, Quake, Hexen and Wolfenstein3D, but I still haven't seen any for Duke Nukem 3D! :P It's a really awesome game and it would be great if someone ported it to the Wii!!! :D Currently, the best port for the PC is the OpenGL-based EDuke32 with Polymer renderer! ;) You can check a demo video, right here! ;)by XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
Hello! :) When I try to load "Wii64 Beta 1.1" using "loadMii 0.3" from my SD card (non-SDHC FAT32) I get a black screen and it doesn't continue from there! :( And I can only get access to the Wii if I turn it off and on again... But that is strange because I have all the files in the right folders and I can run other emulators with the same method just fine (Bannerbomb+loadMii on un-modby XICO2KX - Homebrew Applications
Hello! :) I'm a new user of loadMii, and I have some questions, if you don't mind! :P Here goes... ;) Is it true that loadMii can load homebrew software directly from any "virgin" Wii? Or is it required to have "BootMii" pre-installed first in the console? And is it true that it doesn't do any permanent modifications to its memory? When we restart the console is it still theby XICO2KX - Getting Started
Hello all! :) I was wondering if it was possible to create a special software to put in a SD card or in a USB pen that loaded the needed stuff in the Wii (using for example the BannerBomb exploit) to install the HomeBrew Channel, but without permanently soft-modding the console... :P I mean, if we turned it off and on again it would be an untouched/virgin Wii again! :D And if we wanted to geby XICO2KX - Ideas, requests
