You need to download the most recent version of the Homebrew Channel.by comex - Getting Started
What the heck are you talking about Arikado? I said I wanted someone to test it, because I don't have 3.4. Once that happens, sure I'll release it. Good grief...by comex - Homebrew General
Hey, I think everyone is missing the fact that whatever the situation with WADs, IOS16 is definitely copyrighted and illegal to distribute.by comex - Homebrew Applications
Yes, but Starfall makes it more convenient.by comex - Homebrew General
An infectus is a lot cheaper than a Wii... modchipcentral has one for "only" $55. (I'm personally considering getting one, at least if I can get someone to tell me how you're supposed to install it :z) The actual uid of the IOS title is not usually used AFAIK... IOS itself just happily uses uid 0. Although someone more knowledgeable than me about IOS might correct me.by comex - Software
You can only become the "super user" (really a fakesigned title with group 0) if fakesigning is available, in which case you can just use the standard ES calls to add fakesigned titles. If fakesigning is not available, then you can't become the super user and the menu doesn't have permission to add that stuff. On the other hand if you have an exploit that gives you NAND access, thenby comex - Software
Note that, if you have Starfall installed blocking disc updates, you would have to be trying very hard to brick your Wii in this manner.by comex - FixMii
It's possible; in fact, you can just port the gecko code (see kenobiwii.s from Gecko OS, for example) directly to ARM and it'll work. marcan was having trouble because he was trying to use the gecko before running IOS at all. (Though he got even that to work. I do hope BootMii will be open source; I want to take a peek at all the fun stuff in there.)by comex - Software
To add two cents: A 1-2 replacement like preloader that can (auto-)boot anything (including a menu patcher) from the SD card would be more flexible than an app that can just load patches in some predefined format.by comex - Software
QuoteDrLuckyI see what ampos is saying... couldn't a dev make a similar app that had the copy protection that Nintendo has to stop pirating? What copy protection? :Dby comex - The Junkyard
Whatever his motives for using a wad installer, the twilight hack not booting the HBC installer is a different issue. Try reformatting the card, preferably by using this.by comex - Homebrew General
Depending on the insidiousness of the trick, hundreds of wiis would be bricked... maybe not the best idea :pby comex - The Junkyard
QuoteSpaceJump Why exactly do you want to do this?by comex - Coding
I wrote most of a System Menu (not IOS) hack to load banners from a USB Gecko instead of NAND. It works, and I could test a banner with no fear of bricking, but it's slow and I cba to make it faster and/or release it or whatever. Contact me if you're interested.by comex - Software
