Using the twilight hack for the first time
July 08, 2009 02:00AM
Hi, I just got a Wii and I'd like to play Wii games off of a portable HDD. The system I have is running v3.4U and I don't understand if there's a difference between 3.4 and 3.4U. I've downloaded the 3.4 Twilight hack from here: [hbc.hackmii.com] but am unsure if it would be the same being that I have v3.4U.

Assuming that everything works right afterward and I get the Homebrew Channel installed on the Wii, will I be able to format a HDD to work correctly with the Wii? Please advise. Thanks.

Running Wii games off of a hard drive is associated with illegal activity and backups. Please don't speak of it here.

On another topic, is there a difference between v3.4 and v3.4U when it comes to using the twilight hack?

3.4 is the firmware version. The "U" stands for the region. "J" is Japan, "U" is United States, and "E" is Europe. Seriously, though, edit out the unsupported stuff from your post, or else you'll get banned (running games of your hard-drive.).

the U behind the 3.4 stands for a region.
U = U.S. (North America)
J = Japan
K = Korea
E = Europe, Australia

Waxy beat me to it.
