FUSE .font error

FUSE .font error

I recently formatted my SD card to work with some other apps, but saved what I had on there to put back on the card later - basically just Media Player and a handful of emulators, one of them being FUSE. When I tried to start up FUSE again I get an error that appears for about a second, then boots me back to the Homebrew Channel. The error says something like "cannot find fuse.font" then something about "giving up." I've moved the fuse.font file around to a few different places on the SD card, including the root which allows me to actually start FUSE, but encounters the error "Cannot load 48.rom" when trying to load up any games. I've even erased all FUSE data on the card and replaced it with a freshly unpacked version and I still get the same errors.

FUSE used to work fine before. The only other thing I've done in between when FUSE was working and now is I've installed the new Homebrew Channel updates. Some other things I noticed that may or may not be helpful: despite putting an icon.png file in the fuse apps folder, no icon would show up in the Homebrew Channel, though any changes made to the meta.xml file would.

Any ideas?

Same problem here. I think it's to do with the version of Homebrew channel (see this thread: [www.dcemu.co.uk]) and that Fuse has an invalid .elf file, which the newer version of HBC doesn't like. Fuse used to work for me, until I foolishly let HBC upgrade itself to a later version.

I tried converting to dol as per other instructions on the web, but now get 'invalid application' when trying to start Fuse. If I'm able to come up with a solution, I'll post back here.

Annoyingly, none of the Fuse development team seem accessible... seems to be a dead project :-(

I think problems like this should be reported on fuse discussion page. I'll look into this

I'm working on it. I'll probably post some fix build here shortly.

The only solution I have found to get this working is to move all files ito the same place as the boot.elf is in

i.e root/apps/fuse

original directory list

SD:\apps\fuse\widget (move from here to where boot.elf is located)
SD:\apps\fuse\roms (move from here to where boot.elf is located)
SD:\apps\fuse\lib (move from here to where boot.elf is located)
SD:\apps\fuse\lib\fuse (move from here to where boot.elf is located)
SD:\apps\fuse\meta.xml
SD:\apps\fuse\boot.elf
SD:\apps\fuse\meta.xml

so it looks like this mess!!!

SD:\apps\fuse\boot.elf
SD:\apps\fuse\meta.xml

SD:\apps\fuse\trdos.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\tc2068-1.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\tc2068-0.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\tc2048.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_ts2068.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_se.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_scorpion.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_plus3e.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_plus3.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_plus2a.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_plus2.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_pentagon.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_2068.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_2048.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_128.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_48.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\tape_16.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\se-1.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\se-0.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plusd.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plus3e-3.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plus3e-2.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plus3e-1.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plus3e-0.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plus3disk.bmp
SD:\apps\fuse\plus3-3.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plus3-2.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plus3-1.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plus3-0.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plus2-1.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\plus2-0.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\microdrive.bmp
SD:\apps\fuse\Makefile.in
SD:\apps\fuse\Makefile.am
SD:\apps\fuse\Makefile
SD:\apps\fuse\keyboard.scr
SD:\apps\fuse\if1-2.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\if1-1.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\gluck.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\fuse.font
SD:\apps\fuse\disk_plus3.szx
SD:\apps\fuse\cassette.bmp
SD:\apps\fuse\256s-3.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\256s-2.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\256s-1.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\256s-0.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\128p-1.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\128p-0.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\128-1.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\128-0.rom
SD:\apps\fuse\48.rom

(removed empty dir optional)

should work now for some reason the boot.elf is not locating directories

i was able to load games with 48.rom not tried the others (got controls screen of games and turned it off )

Please let others know if this works or not for you?
