ok im still playing* with 3.4, im not all that excited with 4.0 but can anyone tell me if the update with this will keep MOST homebrew.

WiiSCU uses PatchMii to update the following to their latest versions:

IOS16
IOS38
IOS51 * ok wasnt that the shop channel and 61 the new?
IOS60
IOS61
News Channel
Weather Channel
Mii Channel
Photo Channel (v1.1)
Shop Channel


or is it a bypass to 4.0?

My wii is currently at 2.3E.
Can i still use Twilight hack if i use WiiSCU ?
Will updates come to my wii without my several permissions if i use WiiSCU ?
Do i need 2 wiimotes to use WiiSCU ?

Not exactly. It just updates you shop, mii, and/or photo channel to their 4.0 versions.

Yes.

Noob question here, but how do I run WiiSCU to update IOS61 and the shop? I copied the three files (boot.dol, meta.xml, icon.png) to a fresh SD card. There are no applications in the homebrew channel to run, though.

I have my regular homebrew SD card with everything I normally run, but I don't know where to copy the WiiSCU files on it, nor do I have an application to run it. Can I run it with the WAD manager?

I just want to install IOS61 and update the Wii Shop, without doing anything else to the Wii. Can someone walk me through this one please?

Will they be a WIISCU without using the internet? I downloaded it and put it on my SD card and ran it, then I noticed it said that I do not have the internet (not in them exact words). I would be very grateful if someone made one=D

The whole reason why it has internet is so that you don't have to download a new version every time Nintendo updates the IOS. The app connects to the update server and just downloads/installs the IOS's separately from the System Menu version.
