need help preloader

hi i have downloaded preloader n want to install it but i hear it bricks your wii
so has any 1 tryed this and had easy time install oh by i got my wii this year with 4.0U

Well, you need trucha IOS 36 to install it, which you probably dont have on 4.0U, and anyway, it doesn't brick your wii unless you lose power during installation, which lasts 5 seconds so its unlikely. Just dont try during a storm. Many people have tried it. If you can, I'd try to install BootMii as boot2 if you can, and take a NAND dump with it.

It just makes you look like a n00b. And try to use correct grammar and spelling please, makes your post much easier to read, so we can help you easier. I see a post like yours, and I couldn't be bothered trying to understand what is being said, so don't bother trying to help the person.

i through you cant install it as boot2. only as ios on a 09 wii. witch i have as ios but when i boot it. i push the power button but it doesnt move. so do i need a gc to work make it work. sorry i cant spell great but i try.

Any chance you could actually use words which (not witch) make sense? "I through you can't install it as boot2" doesn't make sense. I thought perhaps? Anyway, have you checked with HackMii Installer if you can install it as boot2? There's a chance it was old stock or something and still has a vulnerable boot1. Unlikely but there is a chance. Oh, and new sentences start with a capital letter ;)

And you need a GC controller to navigate BootMii IOS, not a GC. A GC is a console. And BootMii as IOS is basically pointless, so don't worry about it.

Is that sarcasm or are you actually thanking me? Because I didnt really help you that much I realise.

Basically, go run HackMii Installer and see if you can install BootMii as boot2. If you can, do so. If not, dont bother installing as IOS.
If you can install as boot2, once it's installed, restart the Wii and take a NAND dump.
Then you need to get the trucha bug in IOS 36. You're on your own there I'm afraid.
Then install preloader.

You can do the last two steps regardless of whether BootMii was installed as boot2 and a NAND dump was taken, but there is a slight risk involved.

Run HackMii Installer. If it says beside BootMii Only IOS install or something like that, you can't install it as boot2. If it says can be installed or something like that, it can be installed as either, and you should install it as boot2.
