Geexbox Set-up - Media Center Recommendations

Can anyone help me setup Geexbox in order to see all pcs on my network. I have tried editing the file on the SDCard to no success. Can I have a basic A-Z to help me.

In addition, are there any other Media Centres anyone can help me with.
