More then 1 Player in a Homebrew

Ok, i noticed some emulators allow up to 2 - 4 players to be on, but i cant figure out how to turn the other controls on,.
Yes my wii-motes are full charged. I keep pressing (1)(2) and the lights just keep blinking. does anyone know how to enable other players?

Im running on BannerBomb 4.2

They should be synced to the System Menu first. You can't sync Wii remotes in a homebrew app.
