After using CleanRip on my Wii i got a disc write error while saving to a blank 8GB SD card in the front end. After checking the SD card in my laptop i noticed it had changed size from a 8GB to a 1.7GB. I tried formatting it an it wouldnt show the correct size of the memory card. I found a utillity (incase anyone else has a simular problem).
Use the SD formatter 3.0. It can be downloaded from the SD association's website.

Choose options, then change Size Adjustment to ON.
Format the SD card, then click `refresh`.
The SD card should now show the correct size again
