trouble opening homebrew file

I am new to this and dont know much. I downloaded the twilight hack as told in the step by step and than the homebrew channel download. I was able to extract the twilight download but it wont let me open or extract the homebrew channel download it tells me I dont have a program to open it it is a GZ file.

ok i found out how to extract it with 7zip but I cant go any farther what is wrong

extract with any archive tools... winrar, winzip, 7zip...

7zip should work for you...

They're tools that are you to open archived files (.zip, .rar, .tar, .bz2, etc).

I reccomend Winrar over WinZip and 7Zip as it supports the largest amount of different archived file types. Also, Winrar is free.

no, winrar is shareware. 7-zip is the best and free.
