wii backup

Hello, I just got a wii this weekend and have been reeding the forums and considering the wii channel install through the twighlight princess method. Although, I see it is possible to completly brick a system, it seams this is likely a small precentage of moded machines.

So my question is, before I make any software mods, is it possible to backup my factory system or clone the HD?

It is possible if you have a NAND chip reader like Infectus. You'd need to take apart your Wii to do it though.

Another option is to wait for BootMii, which should allow for recovering from most bricks.
