I have a problem

I have a problem

I've successfully run the Twilight Hack and installed the Homebrew Channel.

However, I did this using my friend's 512mb SD card.

After checking that it would work with your compatibility test, I then bought my 2GB SanDisk card and formatted it to be FAT32 like the one I borrowed.
I copied the files from the borrowed card to mine but the homebrew channel doesn't seem to see it.
The photo channel says it doesn't like the card or the Wii's data management doesn't either.
However, it works fine on my computer.

I've now swapped it with another friend's SanDisk Ultra II 2GB SD card but the results are the same.

What do you think the deal is?

Sounds like a formatting problem. Most new SD cards dont need to be formatted before you try to use them with homebrew. Also, does your friends 512mb SD card still work? It could be your Wii's SD slot afterall.

EDIT: And by the way, that list is by no means definitive. Anyone can post their successess and/or failures on that list.

Yes, my friend's card still works but I want to give it back.
I don't see how it could be a formatting issue.

Did you try the card before formatting it?

I have the exact same card as you and it works fine (on the Wiis non homebrew functions as well as the homebrew channel) so I'm assuming its a formatting issue. Its the only thing that makes sense.

I think I did try the card before formatting it.
Which of the cards do you have? I mentioned two above.

Like DrLucky said, try the Official SD Card Format Tool.
I have my SD card formated as FAT (FAT16), maybe that would work?

Thank you all for your help.
I've used the Official Tool and the card still isn't recognised.

Try formatting it to FAT (also know as FAT 16) instead of FAT 32.

Yes.
I've formatted it to FAT.
Still no change.

Does the Wiis data management or photo channel recognize the card now that its formatted to FAT?

BTW, your card is a 2gb SanDisk SD card right? (Double check and make sure it doesnt say SDHC on the label)

No,
The Wii's data management does not recognise it. It says "The device inserted in the SD Card slot can't be used".
The photo channel says "This card is not usable".
The Homebrew channel does not see it.

Yes, it is a 2GB SanDisk card and it does not say SDHC on the label or in the small writing on the back of the card.

Winows sees it as a FAT SD Card with 1.85GB free.

I cant speak for everyone else, but I'm out of ideas.

Maybe you could try returning the SD card you bought and try buying a new one?
