Starfall vs ISO Patching

Are programs like Edited Out, that patch the ISO, good substitutes to Starfall? Can I play patched NTSC-J games on my NTSC-U Wii without Starfall?

ISO patching is a horrible way to achieve region free gameplay. Just use GeckoOS instead of Starfall.

Why is it horrible? What is the difference?

Because you are patching system software.

Using GeckoOS is Safe, because no changes are permanent

Edit: I just realised, you are talking about ISOs and not IOS My bad

Rofl. I'm surprised that someone who patches ISOs can't answer that themselves.

1)Obtaining an ISO is a dangerous process (unless you visit warez sites - ew)
2)Launching the ISO requires unsupported applications with dangerous install methods.
3)Gecko OS works with legitimate copies of games. No patching required.
4)Gecko OS never touches any critical system files.
