Gecko OS 1.9.2 Does Not Work On Wii Menu 4.2

Gecko OS 1.9.2 does not work on Wii Menu 4.2. I found a downgraded version 1.9.1 and that works fine. My only guess is that the Wii Menu 4.2 changes the cIOS and according to the Gecko OS changelog, "If necessary, cIOS will be used for channel loading"

What do you mean by "Does not work?" Will it not load?

Yeah, just a blank screen after The Homebrew Channel exits after selecting the app. I don't want to mod my Wii if that is a solution. I'm hoping for an update to the program.

Gecko OS 1.9.2 will automatically use IOS 249 if it is present on the system. The current System Update installs a stub at IOS 249. This doesn't have normal IOS features and that is why it crashes.

Solutions:
First I would try Gecko OS 1.9.1

I believe this will work because according to the change log version 1.9.1 predates the inclusion of the use of IOS 249. If for some reason you still have problems, continue trying earlier versions. Some can be found in the download section of the Gecko OS wiibrew page. Cheating VC/Wiiware requires version 1.92 and a vulnerable IOS located at 249, but using almost all earlier version you should still be able to cheat wii games or launch region free.

Well that's what I did before I created this topic and that worked. What I'm wondering is if the creators can update Gecko OS 1.9.2 so that what it can run on all versions of the Wii Menu or at least add 4.2 to be compatible.

Maybe it should check the version number of IOS 249 to check if it's a stub.

You could delete the IOS249 stub with AnyTitle Deleter, but I think you may need a vulnerable IOS for that...

I amalmost certain you do. That's why Ninty uses stubs rather than deleting them.

Although the AnyTitle Deleter wiki page does not day requires an IOS that accepts fake signatures....Maybe it needs ES_Identify though.
