StartPatch - confused by terminology on Wiibrew wiki

I wish to update my version of StartPatch from 4.2.4 to 4.2.6. The page for Startpatch on the wiibrew wiki has the following line in the "Download" section: -

( NOTE: BEFORE UPDATING TO A NEW VERSION, REMOVE ALL PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED PATCHES! )

But throughout the rest of the document it refers to the specific things that StartPatch does as "hacks". So, is the above line telling me I need to remove all previous versions of StartPatch first or remove all "hacks" not "patches" that have been installed by StartPatch before updating?

Its telling you to remove all the hacks that you applied with the previous version, then update to the next version after you've done so. Once you updated, you can re-apply as many patches as you like. :)

hack = patch. patch is the more correct term.
