Wii web server help

i can connect to wii web server inside the network, but elsewhere in firefox it says "the server is taking to long to respond" its not working in any browser. help.

Are you sure port 80 is forwarded on your router to the correct IP (Wii's IP)? Or does you ISP allow you to host on port 80, many block port 80.

ah, my ISP is probably the problem. is there a significant difference in which port i set the config to?

Yes most ISPs will block any useful ports on your home service. like http,https,pop and smtp.

Port 80 is http. If wii web server allows you to run on another port you can try connecting by typing the port number at the end of the address. E.G. [mywebstie.com] or [66.111.55.200]. 9876 being the port the web server is running on.

dang. i am going to change the port, i know to which one, but wii web server say to create a dir called wws and place a file "port.txt" in there. is there a special format the text has to be in? cause i type the port number, thats all, and it still connects through port 80.

Sorry dude I think you're out of luck unless you can code. I just took a look at the source and I think Wii web server is hardcoded to listen on port 80. Here's where I looked :- [wiiwebserver.svn.sourceforge.net]
