Can the wii be setup to act as a media server?

Hey guys:

I am just wondering if anyone has successfully done this??? I would like to be able to watch my avi's from my computer via my network connection.

Is there a quality thread you could point me to? I followed one today but I couldn't get it working. It would be great if I could get though. When I click on SMB1, it says, "Couldn't re-connect to the SMB." Here's the thread that I followed:

xxxxxxxclub.myce.com/f98/how-setup-your-wii-act-media-server-307122/

Replace the xxxxxxx with http://
I wasn't sure if I was allowed to post live threads.
