Updating and IOSs

I'm currently running system menu 4.1 and have been avoiding 4.2/4.3 because the update stubs many IOSs that I use frequently. However, I want to visit the shop channel, and updating it via DOPMii failed, so I figure I should just get around to updating the whole menu. What's the best way to go about doing this without stubbing IOSs, or are they easy enough to fix after updating?

The only IOS that get stubbed are cIOS which are not supported here anyway, and only really used for piracy. Provided you have HBC fully updated, it's fine to update to 4.3.

Ah, alright. I was just worried that the stubbed IOSs would cripple more than that, but I guess it's no huge deal then. Thanks!
