Downgrading Theory/Help

Hi. I accidently updated to 3.4 from wii sports resort, and I was wondering how I could downgrade and still play it. Any Region Changer doesn't work and I refuse to use IOS 16 or whatever that illegal one is. In other words, no cIOSs.

I was looking on the Homebrew Browser yesterday when I got W.U.F.E. (Wii Update File Extractor), which I tested with Wii Sports Resort and I successfully extracted the files. So I thought, why couldn't I just extract the LEGALLY OBTAINED (sorry, but I had to cause of the no piracy thing.) update files from Smash Bros. and install those to downgrade. A few things I want to be able to do are use patchmii, starfall, and to reboot the menu with hooks. So, will this work? And will I be able to use Any Region changer to downgrade to 3.2 after that?(Smash Bros. has 3.3 I think.)

Whats so bad about 3.4? FYI, theres nothing you can do on 3.2 that you cant do on even 4.1

Umm, the fakesigning bug, ( I'm not a pirate!!+)Patchmii, starfall, rebooting system menu with hooks, and Action replay loader. I'm sure there are others.

Please, just tell me if it would work.

All those could work on any system menu
except starfall, but there are altenatives for the hacks such as preloader

Really??Err.... how? I refuse to use IOS 16 or anything else illegal. And anything Wanikoko is out of the question.

No, there are ways to get trucha bug in IOS on 4.1 without Waninkoko stuff, anything illegal, or IOS 16. CMDVDX34 can downgrade IOS 35 to have trucha bug on any firmware, without the need for a present trucha bug, then you can enable it in others through that IOS.

EDIT: I just read you could extract IOS35 from brawl or mario kart and install it. Anyone know if it's possible? I have no cIOS installed.Only MIOS 8 for AR loader.

and instead of using IOS Downgrader [step 20.] you can use dop-IOS to 're-trucha' the IOSs and then use AnyTitle Deleter to remove cIOS afterward

Thank you!! That would work on 3.4, correct? If not, how can I get 4.0 without the normal way (from the "wii system update option in wii settings)?

yeah it'll work on 3.4, but you can update if you want (through the system settings) to get to 4.1

What I mean is that the wii's internet won't work on games and nintendo stuff so I can't update like that. It only works with homebrew so I can get on the HBB and such.

That's weird... You could use NUSD to download the update, then install all the files. You would need the System Menu, IOS60, and IOS61 and I think that's it

Or there's Waninkoko's cIOS Downgrader (which can also upgrade...) but that's not really supported here..

Where could I get IOS60 and IOS61?From NUSD??No games have 'em yet I think.

EDIT: Could I use WiiSCU to get the IOSs?

Edit 2:On Dop-IOS's wiibrew page, it says:if you are on 3.4 'dop' IOS50, if you are on 4.0 'dop' IOS60. Then you will be able to load trucha games on System Menu (with a modchip, of course).

So I need a modchip?Errg, cause that isn't happening.

You can use either NUSD or WiiSCU for the IOSs. Actually, you should use WiiSCU to update, then just use NUSD for the System Menu (because WiiSCU won't update the System Menu). And you don't need a modchip for dop-IOS, just a cIOS (which you can then delete after)

System menu 3.0 through 3.3 uses IOS 30
System menu 3.4 uses IOS 50
System menu 4.0 through 4.1 uses IOS 60

for this reason, if you are on 3.4 and you want trucha games through disc channel, you need to "dop" IOS 50

So these are the steps to follow, right?
1.Run WiiSCU to install IOSs.
2.Using NUSD, download 4.1.
3.Using a WAD manager, install 4.1 WAD.
Thats all the downgrading I think.

4. Backup and format SD card with SD formatter.
5.Launch DVDX34 and select downgrade IOS35.Reboot when finished.
6.Run downgradehelper.bat. Press 1 to open NUSD.
7.Type 0000000100000024 then 1042 and chech pack WAD and begin download.
8.Close NUSD when finished.
9.Console will patch IOS36 to cIOSv9
10.Copy the cIOS to "wad" folder on SD card.
11.Run WMIOS35.
12.Select front SD as source.
13.Install cIOSv9.
14.Run cIOS Patchmii Installer so dop-IOS works.
15.Using dop-IOS, "dop" IOS60, IOS36, and IOS21.
16.Pat self on back!

OH DUH! How could I forget Mother 3!?

Oh yeah, I know about how to install IOS before the Menu. If the menu has no IOS to load, it, errr, doesn't. I have bootmii though so I'll do a NAND back up before anything else.
