HBB help

I have downloaded HBC on my Wii, right now I am trying to load HBB but am getting stuck when it looks for updates. The black screen will appear, start going through stuff then it will say it is checking for updates and then say "Press A to update or press B to skip this update", I cannot select A or B. The screen freezes. I have let it sit like that for 5-10 minutes thinking it just needed to work itself out but nothing happens. I have cleared my SD card and tried it again but it still doesn't work, it keeps getting stuck on the same thing. I am working with 4.3U. Does anyone know what to do?
