How to install Bootmii with Infectus??
October 04, 2009 06:32PM
(I was able to brick my wii somehow by loading Original Zelda Tp from Neogamma.
I booted preloader and entered HBC and started Wad Manager.
I followed this guide [www.youtube.com]
Stupid as i am i just installed the system menu updater first and not the one the guy on youtube install first.
i rebooted my wii and now i have just have a black screen, Disc drive is spinning, i tried the GC crontroller rescue menu but i dont get my firmware version in the corner)

Now I have Infectus2 soldered to the wii nand.
I have a nand backup i created with Bootmii before brick.
Bootmii is not installed on the wii atm.
How do i flash Bootmii to the nand then restore the Backed up nand?

(Sorry i am bad at explaining, I hope u can help me.)

I'd say, flash the NAND dump you made with the Infectus. Then when its working again, install BootMii. Oh, and do yourself a favour - never follow tutorials on YouTube. They are full of illegal stuff. for example, the RAR linked in the description of that video contains illegally redistribruted Nintendo code. And they're also usually full of fail.

I tried to Flash the nand directly from the Infectus programmer but got the error: Write error at 0x00000000.
I turned off "Verify Write" in the infectus progammer and it flashed the wii nand, but when i turned the wii on and off, Still same black screen!!!!!.
Do i need the Keys.bin since i have my own nand.bin?

Thank u for answering :)

Use this software for flashing:

the infectus software is full of bugs...

Also if your backup is from bootmii 0.1 or 0.2 you have to strip out the last 1024 bytes from tha nand.bin
If is from bootmii 0.3 or 04 just use nanb.bin as is.

Hmm, That software wont detect the infectus.. :/
It just says, Work offline (Without Infectus)

EDIT: I think its because I need to solder D0 to Ground?

If so what pin is D0?
My Nand is a Samsung

You have to pull to ground D0 (Data - 0 on infectus board) during the first seconds of console powerup. This is needed only for make the wii stop reading and writing nand.

I don't think this is related to detect problem... your infectus is updated and programmes as nand programmer?

I tried that software first on my main PC(Win7 64) and then when i press the scroll down menu an error popup: Unexpected error, and i can choose to Continue by ignoring the error or Quit the program.

Then i tried it on Vista 32 and no error but The software cant detect it.

So can i just solder another cable to the "0" on infectus and pull it to ground during wii power up?
or is it NP since D0 is connected to Infectus and Infectus is connected to Ground?

You need an extra wire for connect Data 0 to ground, you can add a button to push during startup.
