"System Files are corrupt"

3.4u wii with "System Files are corrupt" after health screen. Cause unknown. Booting into maintenance mode works. Able to reinstall system ios, but system menu installation hangs at "Installing content #09..."

Have tried 3.4 and 4.1 with dop-ios-mod and wad install via NUS downloader. All result in "Installing content #09..." then hangs.

Any ideas as to the cause?

Guy claims he did nothing, just played NSMB, did not update (he says).

Do you have preloader or priiloader installed? Have you tried an official update from Maintenance Mode?

Preloader/priiloader is not installed

Have not attempted the online update.

Have you tried pressing all 4 buttons on your GC controller or your DDR dance pad? That's how SaveMiiFrii works.

OK, so the wii has lost maintenance mode. Waiting for required supplies to arrive to autoboot HBC. Recovery menu is functional.

The owner choose to remove most system channels, now good bye maintenance mode. I suspect that the same error will occure during system menu install once he gets the HBC running.

Any ideas about the cause/solution to crash/freeze during "Installing content #09..." sm install, 3.4 and 4.1 with dop-ios-mod and wad install.

Are you sure you left it long enough and it wasn't still installing? I don't know ow long it takes, but I imagine it'd take a while...

My updating system menu to 4.2 through dop-ios mod took about 10 mins, and content #9 did take a very long time for me, just try it again and wait.

I've had the same problem as you for a while but I managed to fix it last night. If you can boot the HBC install BootMii (if you haven't already )preferably as Boot2 but IOS should do. From there, you can then run Comex's NAND Formatter. All you need is the WAD of System Menu 3.2 and IOS30 I'm pretty sure. Follow the Readme in the file and after that all runs, it should all be good. Well, at least it worked for me. I guess it's worth a shot.
