BootMii won't go beyond menu

Hello, noob's first post.

My Wii has V3.3U firmware. Using bannerbomb aad20 v108 I've installed BootMii, The HomeBrew Channel and later the Homebrew Browser. The last two seems to work fine.
BootMii starts, shows up the 4 icons - and freezes.
The SD card is a 2GB one, and in the log there's the message that the installed boot1 version prevents a boot2 install.

Are you sure it's freezing? The wiimote doesn't work with bootmii yet due to "architectural limitations." Try using the power button to cycle between the options and the reset button to choose one (or just use a gamecube NOT wavebird controller).

I had not the least idea the wiimote wouldn't work!
But the power button doesn't do anything and the reset - resets!

So it seems Bootmii is very crude at the moment.

Try using a game cube controller if you have one. You should be able to navigate the menu with that.
