Sorry but I don't know what you mean or see how this would help me fix my problem.

It's the games and the apps.

Almost every TV does overscan.
As a result some parts of the picture may be cropped.

To compensate for that, some games and apps do not try to fill the whole screen.

Is there anything I could do to fix this... and I'm just an average casual player not a hacker.

If you can't adjust your TV, than: No!

Basically, theres nothing you can do. But hopefully, if our libs are updated, apps will be updated to correct the issue.

Aren't the libs already capable of filling the whole screen?

If that's true, then they're not not being properly utilized by developers. The only lib I've ever seen that works (on my tv at least) is libwiigui. I'm still hoping to see chaosteil update libwiisprite someday...

Which lib did you use in the Wii Shooting Galery?

libwiisprite - the same lib I use in all of my apps. (It cuts off a little on the top and bottom of my screen <_<) BTW, OT, but would you be interested in testing the latest build? I need design help :S

Yes, but I am kinda busy - I am helping a friend on his finals project.

Does WSG have two player support?
A friend of mine and I we usually play Dr. Mario, when she conmes over, but maybe we can give the game a shot
(every little shallow bit of pun intended :D)

the default video modes in libogc fit the whole screen (vertically at least, 640x480), except if it detects you are running in PAL50 (it will output 640x528 when the max height is 574 lines so the video display area is centered on screen)

maybe you have a PAL wii and have it set to 576i in the video options ?

also, it's very common in applications to define a "safe area" when putting graphics on screen , in order to take TV with overscan in account. However, this should not apply to background display, only important visual elements. My TV for example, only let me see 658x448 pixels.
