Homebrew Channel Installed by Bannerbomb....Problem Though...

Wii version: 3.3


So using the bannerbomb method, I've managed to install (with no issues I might add) the Hombrew Channel on my Wii.. After putting the Homebrew Browser in the apps folder and clicking on the Homebrew Channel, nothing really happens... I'll click start but it procedes to do the whole 'white Wii loading screen' before pushing me back out onto the Home Channel.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is the cause of this?

I think you need to install IOS60 using WiiSCU
Use bannerbomb to run WiiSCU then uninstall the homebrew channel and reinstall it again

Now, do I just put this in the SD card's root menu or is there a specific location it needs to be in?

you put it on the root of your SD card as "boot.dol" (or "boot.elf" if it is an .elf file)

Everything is working as promised.

Yeah there's a bug with the Homebrew Channel that makes it run from IOS60 even if it isn't there (which causes the HBC to not work).

Has this bug been reported on hackmii yet?

I don't know... but it's been addressed here on the forums a few times.

Its less of a bug and more of a design issue. (Knowing how the new installation method works) Its very hard for them to fix this. Luckily, there is a more than feasible solution in the form of WiiSCU. Also, people without IOS 60 or an internet connection can always use an older installer.

What is IOS60 anyway?

It's an IOS. The Wii has many of them. They're the way it works. I'm afraid I don't really understand any more than that. Basically, they're a part of the Wii's software.
