update to 4.0 from 3.3? (already softmodded)

ok i just softmodded my wii with bannerbomb. but i know that most newer games require an update, so if i were to update my wii to 4.0, would i still be able to run all the stuff i have now on homebrew channel? and would it brick? or is there a way to run games without updating at all? any help is appreciated. thanks

If you're on 3.3,DON"T UPDATE! You have more benefits on 3.3. Just use Gecko OS to get past the update partition. You can also use this app to boot import games and apply codes. You can find it here. Ask if you need help setting it up. :D

ok is the gecko os the actual usb thing ur talking about, or is it just an application i download?

Gecko OS - Its just an application you download, yes.

PROTIP OP: Those games that require an update can be 'updated' by using IOSes, although I can't link you, you can find them. Also, you should try to find a safe upgrade to 4.0 if you want to use microsds

IIRC Gecko OS will let you install IOSs from the disc if you need them

would i be able to install Edited Out?

I didn't know you wanted to set up homebrew just so you could install a package that will prolly brick your Wii...

is there a way to upgrade from v1 to v2 on 3.3? a custom installer?
or would i have to use A R C to down grade to 3.2 then upgrade to 3.3v2

No, there isn't any way. If you're on 3.3v1 you can downgrade to 3.2 via ARC or upgrade to 4.0 via Nintendo
