Do i absoulutely need the twilight hack? i dont have to game..umm and really dont want to buy it. any way around that?

okay i have tried

aad1f_v108.zip (could not load)
aad20_v108.zip (diddo)
aad22_v108.zip (yup..once again)
aad1e_v108.zip (didnt work..began to go to main menu and got black screen, reset, tried again and froze)
aad26_v108.zip (went to open and it froze)

Is the hackmii installer in the root of your card named "boot.dol" (without the quotes)?

i had gotten the download sent by a friend using mediafire..i cant find the file again

Yup (my bad, I forgot it was an .elf :-P)

ah okay.. so any other suggestions?...oh! im wondering..does my "apps" folder need to be at the root of my SD card?

in order to install homebrew your SD card must look like this:

/Private/wii/title/aktn/content.bin
/boot.elf

boot.elf is the hackmii installer. and the private folder is bannerbomb.
if you have another private folder rename it to private old temporarily.

Are you sure renamed installer.elf to boot.elf?

yup..moved it to the root of the SD too

According to this, you had it installed, and then deleted it. How did you get it installed in the first place? You said that all the aadf files froze for you...How did you get it installed in the first place? Please answer my question, then I might be able to help...

arrrgh!!!! i got it to load but i got to the menu that said "...if you paid you were scammed....." then tried to press the 1 button and the wiimote wouldnt work..so i reset the wii and now none of my wiimotes register...wtf is going on?

wow...false alarm..i got it working again and now the channel works....so for the final time, i really want to thank you guys for putting up with my nubby questions...:D

If your wiimotes aren't registering, try opening the SD flap on the front of your wii and the battery flap on the back of your wiimote, then hold down both the red buttons for 10 seconds. That will resync them. Good luck.

Edit: Oh, saw your new post, forget what I just said. Now go get the Homebrew Browser! :)

try to re-sync the remotes to the wii. sometimes this happens. it is no big deal.
however if you have some other stuff installed that is a different story...
