September 30, 2009 03:02AM
i am trying to install homebrew channel and bannerbomb is giving me a hard time about it, yes i havent done that new system update, ive got banner bomb on the sd card right, and i keep getting stuck at this step, after ive downloaded hackmii_installer_beta3

Copy installer.elf to the root of the SD card, and rename it to boot.elf.
there is no installer.elf on there, but there is a boot.elf on there, should i use this? and two how do i put it onto the root of the sd card?

The boot.elf file goes on the root of the SD card next to the private folder (bannerbomb).
After you put the boot.elf and private folder on, navigate to:

wii settings/data management/channels/SD card

A menu should pop up that loads the hackmii installer. Install the HBC and whatnot. :)

The reason the private folder wouldn't delete is probably because the little switch on the side of your SD card was switched to on....

Okay,
1st post: yes, copy boot.elf to your SD card. (in previous versions of the HackMii Installer, it was names installer.elf)

2nd post: The switch on your SD card must be set on 'locked'.

3rd post: The root directory means not in any folders. Just on the SD card. You can format it in Windows by right-clicking the drive from My Computer and selecting Format.

4th post: Next time just edit the first post with new info/questions. There is no need for 4 consecutive posts.

EDIT: that's what I get for typing this on my iPod touch...

Get the homebrew browser. (over on the wiki) put it in the apps folder.

/apps/homebrew browser/boot.dol, meta.xml, icon.png

boot.dol, meta.xml, and icon.png need to all be in the same folder.
