I need help installing

so i'm trying to install for the first time today but it doesn't seem to be working i put the private folder and boot.elf on the sd card and when i put it in it just shows up as a ?.

yes, but what exploit are you using? Indiana Pwns, SmashStack, Bannerbomb? And what system menu are you on? 3.4, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 etc.?

If you just updated your system, then bannerbomb won't work. You need to use one of the newer exploits, AKA SmashStack or Indiana Pwns.
