Is it safe to install cIOS? 4.2u

I want to install a cIOS on my wii so I can do most things I can't now. But I am worried that my Wii can get bricked for doing the following...? Which is the best cIOS I can use without a brick?

How about no cIOS?

Besides, what can you possibly do with one that you can't already?

Only thing cIOS is really needed for is warez apps ("backup" loaders, wad installers etc.) which are unsupported here. For homebrew, you dont need a cIOS. The only app I can think of that requires cIOS is StartPatch 4.1, and you ONLY need that if you're on 4.1, and even then, I'd say you're better to install preloader, which doesnt need cIOS. So to sum up, you dont need cIOS.

Well, if you wanted to cheat on VC or Wiiware on 4.0+, you need cIOS, or a trucha-enabled IOS36.

There are apps that can enable both. BTW, you can't get a cIOS without a Trucha bugged IOS and 36 is the most common.
