What's a bricked Wii?

Ok, so i'v read some things that don't sound pretty so I want to be sure I don't/won't have a bricked Wii. So basicly I just want to know what a bricked Wii looks and acts like.

A bricked Wii can't do anything. It brings up an error message on loading up or in more severe cases. Additionally, some kinds of bricks "Semi-bricks" only affect the settings menu. Be aware that there are NO reports of Wiis bricked by Homebrew Channel, but there are for system applictaions like dop-IOS MOD and Any Region Changer. Stick to Emulators, games and loaders and you'll be fine.
