Gecko black screen

My Wii is 4.2 with a DriveKey (Config x4 Version) as I have several games brought over from a recent trip to the States

A few of the games still wouldn't run, showing 'unreadable disk' so I was advised to try Gecko installed via Homebrew
I installed Homebrew v1.0.6 via Bannerbomb and put Gecko 192 in an apps folder as instructed
On opening Homebrew Gecko is there but when clicked on you briefly see what I presume is the loading bar full and red, then the screen blacks out and the controller turns off
Refresh does nothing and the Wii has to be turned off
Any help on this would be very useful as I am a bit of a newby here

Make sure you have the latest version of Gecko OS installed.

Yeah Gecko 1.9.2 is the latest and is supposed to work in 4.2 I understand

v1.9.3 is the latest I think actually. v1.9.2 does not work on 4.2 because IOS249 is stubbed on 4.2.

v1.9.2 is the highest on the WiiBrew wiki I think, not sure why. There is a newer version floating about though. Try wiird forums.

All my American disks play
