Net_init failed:-116

Hi,
I was the one with a first generation wii and 3.2u firmware. I tried the Dop-IOS MOD v8 because I had a "no known vulnerable IOS installed on this Wii" error. On the first screen I loaded IOS 55 then under the list of ISO's, I chose IOS 30 v1040. It started loading, then said:
Trying to connect...
Patchmii...
Initializing Network...net_init failed: -116
Need a network to download IOS, sorry :(

What does that mean? Am I supposed to have my wii set up on a wifi to the internet?

I just tried Dop-IOS MOD v6, chose IOS 36 for the initial load. Under the list of ISO's I chose ISO 30 v1040. It then said that it can't find the file on the SD card so trying the network. It then gave me the same net_init failed:-116 error.

Yep, or else it will not work. It has to download the IOS. I think, however, that you can use NUS Downloader to get a WAD of IOS30v1040 and use wadImport to install it.

I'm sorry to be clueless, but I thought that if the wii is connected to the internet it will update, which is what I don't want? Am I supposed to be on a certain site for it to grab these files from?

connecting wii to internet does not make it update. anyway, everything that works on 3.2 works on 4.2 as well if you know what you're doing.

That's the problem, I'm just starting to read up on this stuff, so I have some catching up to do. Most of what people are talking about seem to refer to 4.2 so I didn't know if it was a firmware specific issue.
