Black Limited Edition

Hi Guys, I’m your typical noob, so please be gentle.
I just bought a Black Limited Edition Wii, Serial No’ Starts: LEH 5018.
And its running version 4.1E.
My questions are,
1.Can I softmod this one?
2.If I can, The E at the end of 4.1E, Suggests that its more than 4.1 but not yet 4.2.
the mods out there are for 4.1 or 4.2 which one do I use?
3.This is a Xmas gift for my son, I don’t want to break it before he gets it, or even after.
How safe and how easy is it to mod?
I would be very grateful for any help, particularly a very simple and precise walkthrough.

1. Yes.

2. The E means that the Wii is European. Stuff meant for 4.1 will work, until you switch to 4.2.

3. [www.wiibrew.org] Follow this, and nothing will go wrong.

One more thing. If you are not living in Europe, you will need to use the homebrew application Gecko ( [www.wiibrew.org] ) to launch locally-purchased games safely. You will not be able to launch them through the Wii Menu.

It honestly doesn't matter. Both are equally easily moddable.
