Upgrade help.

I installed the homebrew channel at System Menu 4.0, hacked around with it, and left my wii untouched for a good while. Recently I bought new super mario brothers and found that I cannot play the game. What should I do to upgrade so that I can play this game, and then what should I do to get the homebrew channel back on.

New Super Mario Bros Wii has 4.1. If you used the current HackMii + Bannerbomb (Homebrew Channel version 1.0.6), just update.

It's a scare tactic from Nintendo. I've had my Homebrew Channel on 4.2 since December. Updated through both New Super Mario Bros Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2, and still have a fully functional Wii (with the exception of some game crashes)

That's supposed to happen. Accept the update (it's from the disk)

No, but if you're really paranoid about updating, you can launch the game with Gecko OS to bypass the update or use Priiloader hacks to block updates.
