Installing HBC w/ broken disc drive

How do I go about modding my 4.3U wii? I've got a broken disc drive. I tried using Letterbomb. Not working. Entered proper mac, formatted sd card over and over. Any suggestions? Also, will I be able to load homebrew from an ext. hdd once modded? Thanks

You are doing something wrong or your SD card is incompatible.

Are you sure all these things are correct:

MAC address entered
System Menu Version selected
Date on Wii

Also, go back through the message board for a week or two to make sure its not there.

EDIT: You also have to have at least one message on your Wii already, but that shouldn't be an issue I guess, play logs etc. count.

Thanks Sifjar. I've read that I need an SD card that is 2GB or less and not SDHC. I'll try that.

Usually that's correct, but Letterbomb should still work with some SDHC cards. Regardless, try another card.
