Update Nintendo Wii with No Direct Internet Connection?

I'm very new to this and am currently in a 'developing' country. I have just bought my first Wii which is about 4-5 year old. I would like to homebrew it, but I don't think has been updated since bought, and I would like to update it before I start so the latest OS is on. Problem - my building has wifi with no network password, BUT when I click on my first link in my browser I'm re-directed to a login page where I have to put username and password in. I've asked, they've understood me, but won't let me have a no name/password account even for the time it takes to upgrade, I told them less than an hour but employees have no discretion and follow rules very strictly. A few local cafe's and bars have wifi but none will turn off the password to access for me so I can upgrade, again no discretion allowed. I don't know any locals with an intenet connection. I'm totally stuffed unless there is a way I can download an update from my laptop, put it onto a cd or sd card and run it in Wii,

Is this possible?

Thanks for reading

Get any game that came out in the past two years and use the disc to update.
