bootmii and formatting

Hi, I just got bootmii and want to make a NAND backup of my wii without any (or close) homebrew installed. If I format my wii, will I need to reinstall bootmii or will it still be there? I know, extremely noobish question... also, if bootmii is erased, is there risk to this, or will it be easy to reinstall it with bannerbomb? will i need any IOSes to run bootmii? and after i format, can i go back to my "old" wii by restoring a NAND backup from before I formatted?

BootMii will still be there after a format. And to answer your last question: Yes.
