upgraded hacked Wii to 4.2E and now bricked?

Hiya, I have managed to 'upgrade' a modded Wii to 4.2E. I don't know if I have bricked it or semi-bricked it. I can get to system settings and have reformatted the memory. I have a PAL wii and had it modded using Zelda hack. It was probably on 3.4 and i thought to upgrade the hacked software but ended up upgrading system software to 4.2E. Since I have done this I can see the following channels.

Mii
Photo
Shop
Forecast
News

I have been able to install the homebrew channel also but when i go into anything i get a blank screen.

I can access the system settings and have formatted the wii system mem too. still knackered. What state of bricked/dead is it?

Probably something wrong with your IOS. Did you use a "safe homebrew updater"? Anyway, to fix it, use bannerbomb, indiana pwns or smash stack to run dop-IOS MOD, and choose to run on IOS70. Then go through EVERY IOS and install them all without any patches.
