Hi,

I found this Forums through the Wiki page: [wiibrew.org]

I've downloaded v1.11 for my 4.1U and I'm absolutely lost on how to run this thing. I've tried copying it to a blank SD card, I've tried dropping it on my hackmii card (but I didn't rename boot.elf. Just exactly what am I supposed to do?

Ok, what do I have?

I've got HBC installed, bubbles floating up. When I click the start button, I see the following:

Network not initialized
1.0.6
IOS61 v19.28

My network works when the Wii is booted normally, do I need to remove the password on my router to make it work, or am I missing something else as well?

Yes, you're missing something.

Make an apps folder on the root of your SD card. Drag the trucha bug restorer folder into the apps folder. That means it should be set up like this:

root:/apps/trucha_bug_restorer/boot.dol

Does that make sense?

Perfect sense - Thank you. All the guides I've been reading were laid out great, this one was just missing me somehow.

Just for future reference, a lot of the guides that you find on other sites tell you to install things that are illegal and that can brick your wii. If you have any more questions, you should probably ask them here.

i'm glad you solved your problem! :)

is there a way to activate the network while working off the card?

I'm don't quite understand your question...

If the internet connection is configured on your wii, it will work with homebrew. However, it does not initialize instantly.

Figured out the internet trouble: I was working on someone's laptop last month and changed the password and the encryption. Now I have to set it back up on the Wii. I'm just working off the SD card now, more back and forth, but I'm making progress.

After you told me, the directions in my hand (paper copy), 2 more tries to get it installed, I finally saw the line I was missing - copy to sd:/apps/. Guess I overlooked it.
