I know that there is a script that can be set for channels like weather and news so that the banner is different is news is downloaded but what excuse does the disc channel have, its banner changes mid channel
The "disc channel" is not a real channel, it is not stored on NAND. Sysmenu sets the banner, ect, to the game's banner when inserted, and a generic banner otherwise.
