USB 2.0 devices are usually backwards compatible with USB 1.1.by rokujou - Homebrew General
Thanks for the reply, marcan. So, to re-iterate, we know that Wii could render higher resolutions IF we could configure a PLL and IF the hardware supported it. I guess nobody has really looked into playing around with the graphics hardware like this yet, everyone is too busy trying other things. Do you think this sort of information would become known over time as we delve deeper into the Wii,by rokujou - Homebrew General
QuotestrongfanYeah, I think I'm going to patent the optical mouse and wireless keyboard. EDIT: Hey wait! It may not be the analog sticks! As a matter of fact, this link says nothing about six degrees of freedome! It only covers the vibration! That's what I thought when I read that a while back, but it doesn't go into any details of the vibration, it just says "a tactileby rokujou - Homebrew General
My mistake, it's a long time since I actually set my Wii up :)by rokujou - Homebrew General
I do remember that in the later years of the PS2, certain games appeared that supported higher video resolutions. From what I've read, the Gamecube was more powerful than the PS2 in terms of processing power and graphical capabilities. Gran Turismo 4 supports 1080i but not 720p, which is why I thought 720p must be more power hungry than 1080i. Like you said, though, if the hardware isn&by rokujou - Homebrew General

You are mistaken. You still need a modchip to load any disc that's trucha signed. As far as I know (which isn't much), trucha signing is used to resign a game after it has been decrypted and had its IOS updates removed or other elements patched. Not sure if I'm right, though.by rokujou - Homebrew General
Looks like I got my facts wrong :) Read this: I've seen a lot of talk on GBA-Temp about semi bricks, I guess I just got confused. I completely forgot about the HackMii post explaining bricks.by rokujou - Homebrew General
QuoteVideogamerFrom what that guy said above, ONLY the wireless one is banned (not the wired one). But they CAN'T ban the wired one anyway, because then they would have to recall ALL of the ones in circulation too. Without GC controllers, the ENTIRE GC system itself would be completely USELESS. If you read the Bloomberg link I posted, you'll see it's the wired and wireless GC coby rokujou - Homebrew General
Quotepzyr0umm.. no their not, i'm sure nintendo's lawyers will stop anascapes lawsuit. wii were "sewed" before remember? Nintendo have already lost and were ordered to pay $21m to Anascape. They are appealling, but they're fighting an uphill struggle now. The appeal is what is holding the ban right now; if the appeal fails the ban will be enforced. The key phrase here is "siby rokujou - Homebrew General
There are homebrew applications that will let you play Wii games that aren't from your console's region, without actually changing the region of your console. As the System Menu is starting, it runs through loading each item's banner. A bad banner can cause this process to halt, stopping the System Menu from loading. It's a short page, but I suggest you read . It explaby rokujou - Homebrew General
To brick your Wii would be to render it unusable. There's also "semi-bricking" which renders your Wii unusable but is fixable. The most common causes of bricking are messing with the Wii's internal flash memory (NAND) and playing around with the system menu banners. Generally speaking, most homebrew is safe to use on your Wii. The only risk is when you start packing custom bannersby rokujou - Homebrew General
Nintendo already released an update once that removed the twilight hack and fixed the Trucha bug. Team Twiizers were able to change the twilight hack to work around the bug. If any games need updates, you can just install the update from the game. In any case, as soon as you see a message for an update, check online and find out if it affects anything. If it does, it wouldn't kill youby rokujou - Homebrew General
Source: Kotaku "Anascape's patent covers certain configuration of the remote to control six types of motions at the same time." Source: Bloomberg. And it seems that the ban covers the GameCube controller, WaveBird and Classic Controllers, so probably has something to do with the dual analog sticks (which would clear the nunchuck because it only has 1 analog stick). Hi everyone, forums are looking good I'll make sure I follow them regularly and join in when I can. There's something I've always wondered about the Wii; Is it capable of outputting at higher resolutions such as 720p or 1080i? I know that it wouldn't be capable of running games in HD, but what about things that don't really use much of the graphics capabilities, likeby rokujou - Homebrew General
