Help with 4.0 game updates

A while back, when the 4.0 update was available for the Wii, I went along like a dumbass and updated. Ever since then, I've been prompted by my Wii to perform an update every time I inserted a game, which was weird because these games didn't need an update when I was on my previous firmware. Of course, I didn't update, so I couldn't boot any games through the DiscChannel, so I was able to get by using WiiGator Gamma 0.3 (or 3.0, I forgot). I'm kind of obssesivley compuslive person, so having to use the WiiGator to boot my normal Wii games really pisses me off; I'd much rather be able to boot them with the original Disc Channel. I've heard about WUFE being able to remove the update information from any game, or at least, something like that. So, if I boot WUFE with, let's say, my SSBB ,theoretically un-WUFED needs an update to boot using the Disc Channel, will it remove this update and allow me to boot it through the Disc Channel? Thanks.
